Wax Prep Guide
How to Prepare for Your Wax
Preparing for your wax helps your appointment feel smoother, calmer, and more comfortable. Whether it is your first wax or part of your regular self-care routine in Culver City or Los Angeles, a little prep goes a long way.
I want you to feel informed, never intimidated. These simple steps help me give you the best result possible while keeping your skin cared for.
Before Your Appointment
Why Hair Length Matters
Hair that is at least 1/2 inch long gives the wax enough to hold onto. If the hair is too short, it may not lift cleanly, which can lead to more tweezing, more sensitivity, and a less smooth finish.
Why Exfoliation Helps
Gentle exfoliation 24-48 hours before your wax helps remove surface buildup so the wax can work more evenly. The goal is soft, prepared skin, not irritated skin, so keep it gentle.
Why Caffeine Can Matter
Coffee and extra caffeine can make some people feel more sensitive on wax day. If you know your skin or body reacts easily, skipping caffeine beforehand may help your appointment feel more relaxed.
